Well the holidays came and went, and apparently so did my desire to update this blog regularly! Jeez!
We were looking forward to this trip so much! We had not been back to Austin since June and I have to say it's an Austin we're having a hard time recognizing more and more each time we go back, but more on that some other time...
What we didn't have a hard time recognizing was all our wonderful friends and family!
We had such a lovely time visiting with everyone we could. We had some nights in, some dinners out, dinners at friend's houses, met some babies who were brought into the world while we've been gone, had multiple karaoke nights, fit in a wine tasting, a trip to Houston to see Ernie's family, a New Year's Eve spent at the Bastrop State Park cabins with some of the best people ever (see pictures below), and much more!
Earlier, I had posted a list of things and places I was looking forward to during our visit home but unfortunately I was only able to get half of it done while there.
We weren't able to make it to Madam Mam's, the Drafthouse or Barton Springs (or more appropriately the Zilker Tree). However, we did manage to eat our fair share of queso, drink our fair share of Lone Star, and I got myself a haircut from the lady that does it best!
I have to say though, my favorite thing about visiting Austin is how easy it is to feel at home when we're around our friends and family. You guys are truly the best! And we're so thankful for you all!!
We'll be back in March! Because we just can't stay away! See you then!
